This is a hands-on and varied role that will require both office-based and on-location work. A Production Accountant is required to join a well-known, well-respected, global TV/Film/content production company to provide critical financial oversight across a slate of dynamic productions. The successful candidate will be integral in ensuring TV productions are financially managed to the highest standard, offering strong visibility and collaboration across production, finance, and executive teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of productions
- Partner with Production Execs and Managers to ensure compliance with company financial procedures
- Maintain up-to-date financial information including budgets, cost reports, and cash flows
- Monitor production spend, process invoices, and manage expense claims
- Prepare and review cost reports and meet regularly with production teams to ensure accuracy
- Submit monthly figures and apply appropriate revenue recognition policies
- Prepare and maintain production cash flows and liaise with legal for billing and debtor management
- Support audits and compile final financial reports post-production
- Provide ad hoc financial support, reporting, and analysis
- Stay current with industry developments and evolving tax policies relevant to TV & Film
Skill Set Required
- Prior experience as a Production Accountant (TV/Film experience essential)
- Experience working on large budget TV shows or Films
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commercial acumen with proactive problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel and support productions on location as needed
