A private equity-backed technology business with strong year-on-year growth is looking to appoint a Finance Director on a 12-18 month FTC to play a pivotal part in preparing a scaling business for a potential transaction and supporting executive leadership during a critical period of strategic review.
Working closely with the CEO and reporting directly into the leadership team, you will act as a senior finance partner, supporting internal readiness initiatives, engaging with key shareholders, and mentoring internal senior finance stakeholders. The business is undertaking a deep internal review in preparation for potential M&A activity. Your focus will be on shaping the finance function to ensure it’s fit for due diligence — identifying areas for improvement, supporting leadership with insight, and acting as a key point of contact between finance and investors.
Key responsibilities:- Lead internal due diligence processes and readiness for potential sale
- Identify and address gaps across finance operations, reporting, and controls
- Support investor and board-level engagement with clear financial insight
- Mentor and develop an existing Head of Finance
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team on commercial decisions
- Provide ad hoc strategic and operational finance support during this critical phase
- Proven experience leading a finance function through M&A, from both vendor and buyer perspectives - sale & buy exposure
- Experience engaging with investors and boards in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills to support existing finance leadership
- Sector experience in Tech or Digital
- Background in both industry and advisory (Big 4 or equivalent) is ideal
- Collaborative and approachable, with high emotional intelligence
- Able to operate with confidence in ambiguity and fast-paced change
