About St Andrew's

St Andrew's is located in the lovely village of Ewerby (5 miles to the East of Sleaford). The home provides personal care, including nursing and dementia care, for 42 residents.

Role Responsibilities

  • Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
  • Responsibility for promoting our resident's independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
  • Completing the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits.
  • Promoting good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practice from other team members.
  • Ensuring one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Role Requirements

  • Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential/nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
  • Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
  • Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Leadership and people skills.
  • A caring and nurturing attitude.
  • Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
  • Time management skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
