About South Moor Lodge
South Moor Lodge is located in the village of Walkeringham (5 miles west of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, extended to provide modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living.
- Promote residents' independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, and support their physical and emotional wellbeing; contribute during shift handovers.
- Lead your shift to maintain high standards and support other team members.
- Complete daily medication rounds and document consistently; ensure daily charts are completed to a high standard and lead the team on all shifts.
- Promote good practice in all aspects of care and challenge poor practice; ensure one-to-ones for all care and support team members every two months and investigate complaints as directed by the Home Manager.
Role Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential/nursing home setting.
- Aware of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
- Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults; ability to recognize signs of abuse and follow procedures in case of an allegation.
- Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership and people skills.
- A caring and nurturing attitude.
- Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
- Time management skills.
- Written and oral communication skills.
