Avenue House is located just outside Rushden. The modern regency‑style home provides 48 residents with personal, nursing and dementia care in a homely environment.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities for Senior Care Assistant:
- Provide the highest possible level of care, supporting residents in all aspects of daily living.
- Promote residents’ independence with focus on choice, dignity and respect; support physical and emotional wellbeing; provide input during shift handovers.
- Lead the shift to maintain high standards and support team members.
- Complete daily medication rounds and document accurately; ensure charts are completed to a high standard by all team members.
- Promote good practice in all aspects of care and challenge poor practice; audit one‑to‑ones for all care and support team members every two months; investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
- Awareness of the principles of Person‑Centred Care Planning.
- Knowledge of abuse prevention, recognition of signs of abuse and procedures for reporting allegations.
- Live within 30 minutes of the home.
Preferred Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:
- Two years’ experience in a similar nursing home role.
- At least one year of experience caring for residents living with dementia.
- NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above.
- Knowledge of the National Care Standards Act 2000.
- Experience conducting effective person‑centred one‑to‑ones.
- Experience managing a team.
