An opportunity has opened for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in Stockton-on-Tees. The ideal candidate will have a background working as a Mechanical Engineer and have experience of project engineering / management for the full engineering lifecycle. The role will be onsite working with a small team, assisting with designs and ensuring projects are running smoothly from start to finish.
Key Skills:- Experienced Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer
- Project Engineering / Project Management experience
- CAD experience – Solidworks, AutoCAD etc
- Experience working on projects related to special purpose machinery (conveyors etc) or structural
- Understanding of engineering calculations and analysis
- Understanding of ISO 9001 standards
- Working with the engineering team on projects from concept to completion
- Designing, reviewing and analysing client specs to ensure projects meet expectations
- Using AutoCAD 3D and Solidworks
- Keeping clients up to date with any changes to design brief
- Inspecting mechanical builds, checking test results
- Liaising with quality and operations to ensure projects are on track
- Project planning and management
- Liaising with the team agreeing on budgets, and estimating costs
