An opportunity has opened for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in Stockton-on-Tees. The ideal candidate will have a background working as a Mechanical Engineer and have experience of project engineering/management for the full engineering lifecycle. The role will be onsite working with a small team, assisting with designs and ensuring projects are running smoothly from start to finish.

Key Skills

  • Experienced Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer
  • Project Engineering / Project Management experience
  • CAD experience - Solidworks, AutoCAD etc
  • Experience working on projects related to special purpose machinery (conveyors etc) or structural
  • Understanding of engineering calculations and analysis
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 standards

Responsibilities

  • Working with the engineering team on projects from concept to completion
  • Designing, reviewing and analysing client specs to ensure projects meet expectations
  • Using AutoCAD 3D and Solidworks
  • Keeping clients up to date with any changes to design brief
  • Inspecting mechanical builds, checking test results
  • Liaising with quality and operations to ensure projects are on track
  • Project planning and management
  • Liaising with the team agreeing on budgets, and estimating costs
