JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Air Freight Manager will be responsible for airfreight operations and negotiations of airfreight export with carriers and growth in volume of import and export traffics at the national level. The AFM will support the Sales department and Operational department with the selling of the Export Air Freight and with the reiterated or critical problems in the operation of the product (Import and Export).
Your mission as Air Freight Manager includes:
- Full responsibility for Air Freight Import & Export operations at regional level
- Actively drive growth and profitability in export air freight business
- Monitor and manage P&L development for the Air Export product
- Support the definition and execution of Air Freight budget and volume targets
- Develop key export & import vertical markets in close cooperation with Sales and Marketing
- Contribute to achieving targets for major air trade lanes
Carrier & Partner Management:
- Support and participate in carrier negotiations aligned with regional and local contracts
- Manage allocation performance and capacity achievement with carriers
- Maintain strong relationships with airlines, partners, and agents
- Responsible for IATA relationship at regional level and ensure compliance with all IATA operational requirements
Sales & Customer Support:
- Actively support the Sales organization with technical expertise and product solutions
- Participate in customer and prospect visits together with Sales
- Support Sales and Operations in solving reiterated or critical operational issues
- Design tailor-made air freight solutions for customers and new business opportunities
Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient air freight operations (Import & Export)
- Responsible for statistics, reporting, and file administration related to air freight traffic
- Work in full accordance with compliance rules, policies, and procedures
- Cooperate closely with Operations to continuously improve execution and customer service
People Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop your team to perform at their best
- Recommend hiring, promotions, and other people decisions

Education & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, international business – or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience within Air Freight (product, operations, or commercial scope)
- Strong knowledge of air freight operations and cost control
- Proven experience in business development, sales support, and carrier interaction
- Leadership experience is highly valued
- Thrives in a competitive, fast-paced, and changing environment
Working environment:
Location: any of our major branches in Nordic countries. Travel required to support customers, partners, carriers, and internal collaboration. Dynamic role requiring flexibility, energy, and problem-solving ability.
