The Role In a Nutshell
When the most complex data network faults land on the desk, you're the person who resolves them. This is a high-visibility third line position at the technical heart of a large-scale enterprise connectivity operation, diagnosing and fixing the hardest MPLS, SD-WAN, and Cisco network faults in a demanding, SLA-driven environment where your expertise genuinely matters.
The Business
One of Europe's leading enterprise connectivity businesses, serving over a million business customers internationally across sectors including enterprise, government, and public services. - CCNP certification or active progress toward it (preferred)

- Multi-vendor WAN experience across Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, or Juniper
- Experience in service desk or tiered support environments (1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd line)
- Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) and Police Personnel Vetting (PPV3)
The following would be an advantage:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Familiarity with ITIL or structured service management frameworks
Your Responsibilities
- Resolve third line data network faults within agreed SLAs as the primary technical escalation point
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network issues using advanced diagnostic tools and deep domain expertise
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of enterprise WAN architectures including MPLS and SD-WAN
- Collaborate with service desk and engineering teams to elevate and close incidents effectively
- Liaise with senior management to communicate technical findings and support service improvement initiatives
- Stay current with emerging WAN technologies and vendor developments across Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, and Juniper
- Maintain compliance with security protocols and fulfil SC clearance and PPV3 requirements
Other skills required:
- Technical Depth - Ability to diagnose and resolve complex, low-level network faults in high-pressure, SLA-driven environments without relying on scripts or playbooks
- Stakeholder Communication - Confidence to translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable language for senior management and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative Working - Proven track record of coordinating across multi-team environments, sharing knowledge and driving incident resolution under pressure
- Improvement Mindset - Proactive approach to identifying fault patterns and contributing to lasting improvements in network service quality
