Technical Manager / Technologist for a knowledgeable and passionate food supplier. Developing and maintaining the customers’ relationships whilst promoting and driving the business forward. Managing the technical function across a range of specified products and accounts in order to ensure that sourcing quality and customer requirements are achieved. The client is happy to look at a range of levels and will help develop skills if the person joins at Technologist level.
Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:
- Delivering against the company and personal annual objectives
- Management of customers & businesses KPIs and management of accounts
- Building strong relationships with customers
- Ensuring that the customer or business specific auditing and regulatory standards are being maintained
- Managing and keeping up to date all the relevant customer portals and product specifications
- Planning and delivering regular supplier visits
- Creating an ongoing dialogue with all suppliers
- Successfully identifying technical projects to introduce innovation to the business
- Working closely with the commercial teams to deliver the best new and existing product development through commercially sound reasoning
- Trend customer complaints
Essential / Desirable skills include:
- Must have major retailer experience / understanding
- Understanding of food safety and quality systems
- Ability to understand and interpret customer requirements
- MS Office skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, internally and externally
- Inspire a positive, can-do approach
- Constructive feedback & Clear communication
- Comfortable travelling UK and Internationally
