Yawn Marketing, a Jarrold company, is a marketing agency based in Norwich. We are on the lookout for a creative to join our team to work with our Marketing Consultants, Strategists and Account Managers. We have a broad roster of high-profile local and national clients and provide marketing consultancy and delivery for in-group Jarrold businesses and external clients. Given this, we’re bolstering our capability in design to elevate our creative outputs further.
We’re a small team of knowledgeable, energetic and creative marketers, with expertise in a range of areas. This role is an opportunity to take a key position in helping us shape our future, grow with the business, and meaningfully contribute to our brand. This is a contract role initially with the opportunity to extend.
Overview of Role
The role of Graphic Designer sits within Yawn Marketing’s service delivery team, supporting our clients in the delivery of brand evolutions (that are fit for online and physical media), social media guidelines and templates, email and website banners and ads which cut through the noise.
Core Responsibilities
- Brand design – Conduct desk research, interrogate briefs, mood board themes and possible design routes and create concepts that evolve existing brands or establish new ones.
- Brand roll out – Clearly document and structure brand design assets ready for client consumption and use.
- Cross-channel thinking – Identify and create cross-channel creative concepts that work across the marketing mix for our client's ensuring ideas carry across platforms.
- Internal training and knowledge sharing – Contributing to the ongoing development of the team by sharing expertise, helping to train and upskill colleagues, and supporting a culture of continuous learning across the agency.
- Business development – Refine pitch materials as required and create creative concepts for pitches to help us win new work.
- Agency marketing – Supporting the promotion of Yawn’s services through activities such as email campaigns, website management, social media marketing, and the creation of content to demonstrate the agency’s expertise and results.
Key Skills & Experience
- You don’t need a degree, but you do need some industry experience, ideally 1-3 years.
- Proficiency in design tools including Canva, Adobe Suite & Figma preferred.
- Proficiency or interest in learning animation using Adobe Suite, Rive or other suitable tooling.
- Strong understanding of graphic design fundamentals, typography, grid, colour logic etc.
- Interest in designing with AI and creating AI-enable design workflows.
- Background in graphic design, illustration, experience design or related design discipline.
- Ability to carry ideas from conception to full rollout.
- Passionate about how design and marketing intersect.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role is an advantage.
- Additional experience or interest in areas such as social media, email marketing, web design are an advantage.

Details
- Full-time, permanent, flexible working with up to two days at home per week.
- You must be based in Norwich, or within easy commutable distance, as our office is in Norwich city centre.
- 27 days annual holiday plus bank holidays; with one extra day of holiday per year completed (up to a maximum of 29 days holiday).
