Applications are invited from experienced Learning Disabilities Nurses to join the well-established Adult Learning Disabilities Service in Guernsey. The service supports adults with learning disabilities and autism across residential homes, day service, supported living homes, outreach and community settings.

Registered General or Mental Health Nurses, or Social Workers with specific Learning Disabilities experience may also be considered. There are currently several vacancies in the Service:

  • Band 5 Team Leader - Complex Residential, in Community Living and in Day Service
  • Band 6 Deputy Manager - Complex Residential and in Community Living

Reporting to the Band 6 Deputy Manager, you provide and oversee the care and support for Service Users and motivate the Band 3 and Band 4 Support Workers in your team. Newly or soon-to-qualify RNLDs looking to start their post-registration career are welcome to apply.

Reporting to the Band 7 Service Manager, you support the overall management of the Service and deputise for the Manager in their absence.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scales. The current Band 5 salary range is £40,178 to £51,819 and Band 6 is £47,860 to £64,615 with higher unsocial hours enhancements: 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. Both roles offer an annual bonus of £1,747 and an additional £3,000 bonus on completion of two, then four years service.

Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS or Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave. The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of Britain's finest and best-kept beaches, an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbour town in St. Peter's Port, the island's capital.

Providing an excellent Learning Disabilities Service, supported by modern equipment and reliant on Healthcare professionals recruited to a high standard.
