Applications are invited from Consultant Psychiatrists to join the Adult Acute Mental Health Services team based at the main Hospital site on the beautiful Island of Guernsey , in the Channel Islands. the Clinical Director, Associate Director Lead Consultant and Senior Service Manager to provide an effective clinical Acute Mental Health service.
There are 4 Consultants and 5 Associate Specialists in Adult Mental Health, including this post.
This is a full-time post covering the adult acute inpatient ward, and providing 2 sessions in the community between the 3 on-island GP practice groups and the island of Alderney.
The Ward is the islands only Adult Inpatient Ward with 14 single occupancy en-suite beds on the main ward, with 2 in extra care and 1 in high care, for those in need of a separate environment.
Full GMC registration on the Specialist register MRCPsych or equivalent qualification Wide and recent experience of General Adult Psychiatry Current or recent Consultant experience To carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties and contribute to postgraduate and continuing education (including non-medical staff) The benefits of working for the States of Guernsey in this post include: A minimum of 30 days annual leave, increasing with service 10 days of study leave and a study budget of £4,000 per annum Payment of MDU, GMC and RCPsych fees A higher-than-UK salary with low tax rates (20% top rate income tax, no VAT, council tax, capital gains or inheritance tax).
