The predicted salary is between 75600 - 92400 £ per year.

You will work closely with the Clinical Director, Associate Director Lead Consultant and Senior Service Manager to provide an effective clinical Acute Adult Mental Health service.

Based at the main Hospital site on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

There are 5 Consultants (including this post) and 6 Associate Specialists in Adult Mental Health, and two Consultants in CAMHS.

This is a full-time post covering the adult acute inpatient ward, and providing 2 sessions in the communitybetween the 3 on-island GP practice groups and the island of Alderney.

The role provides 10 PA's over four days with the option to work an additional two x PAs over five days.

The Ward is the islands only Adult Inpatient Ward with 14 single occupancy en-suite beds on the main ward, with 2 in extra care and 1 in highcare, for those in need of a separate environment.

There is also a seclusion room.

With an average occupancy of between 60-70% the Ward has a dedicated, experienced Associate Specialist, purely covering this ward.

This role includes 2nd on-call commitment, currently 1:6, supporting an Associate Specialist who is 1st on call.(consultant on-call is very minimal)

Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands with a population of 65,000 and has some ofthe British Islesfinest and best-keptbeaches, an especially mild and sunnyclimate, and an offbeat, historic harbour town in St.

Peter's Port, the island’s capital.

  • Role Requirements
  • Full GMC registration on the Specialist register, or to be within six months of CCT
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
  • Wide and recent experience of General Adult Psychiatry
  • To carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties and contribute to postgraduate and continuing education (including non-medical staff)
