My client in the Bury area are looking for experienced Commercial Body Builders.

Duties of the Role:

  • Under general supervision, performs skilled work during the manufacture/build of trailer and trailer bodies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of fixtures, apparatus, and other elements in the factory area.
  • Work involves fitting body components to panels and assembled trailer bodies. The parts may be attached by bonding or by mechanical fasteners.
  • Use tools and equipment used in trailer bodybuilding.
  • General knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skill in the use and care of hand and power tools and equipment necessary to prepare, fit and fasten body components.
  • Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time as required by work assignments.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good manual dexterity requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as hand tools.
  • Experience in the manufacture of trailers is desirable but not essential.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Be able to maintain and repair associated adhesive and fastener equipment.
  • Ability to apply specified bonding procedures.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the manufacture of trailers and trailer bodies.
  • Experience in body repairs.
  • Experience in chassis repairs after accident damage.
  • Experience in refurb of old trailers.
