My client based on the outskirts of Stevenage is looking for a Technical and Production Technician to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to join an established business and work in a new state-of-the-art building. Immediate starts are available.

Job Purpose:

  • Provide both technical and product information to customers (UK and overseas), resolving enquiries and problems to achieve complete customer satisfaction via phone and email.
  • Undertake technical maintenance and assist with repairs as required.
  • General production including making of sub-assemblies, looms and harnesses preparation, wiring, testing and packing.
  • Ensure that the highest company quality standards are maintained.
  • Monitor component stock levels within the department and liaise with the supervisors to ensure sufficient component stock levels are maintained.

  • Work flexibly and efficiently as part of a team and liaise closely with other team members to maintain absolute confidentiality in all related matters and to prevent disclosure of information.
  • Always maintain a calm, positive and professional approach when dealing with staff and clients.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized environment conducive to efficient working practices.
  • French language would be an advantage.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Technical: Provide a high standard of technical advice and guidance to customer issues in a timely manner via email and telephone; a good knowledge of single, three phase and electrical installations will be required.
  • Oversee technical maintenance and assist with repair operations to ensure that service delivery is not compromised.
  • Undertake investigations and provide reports in relation to customer issues and feedback.
  • Review technical information, manuals and processes, updating and improving where relevant.
  • Liaise with Customer Services, Sales and Production as required for customer queries, taking ownership to ensure they are resolved to the company and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute positively to customer satisfaction and provide additional support in managing customer complaints.
  • Take initiative and efforts to develop constructive and effective solutions to any issues.
  • Production: Assist in the development of new products.
  • Organize samples, jigs and components.
  • Carry out repairs of the products.
  • Pressure testing.
  • Electrical testing.
  • Maintain tooling to keep in good working condition and report any potential issues with tooling to a supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines dictating the production and handling of materials in the factory and report safety concerns to a supervisor.
