Jark Stevenage are urgently recruiting for a Pre Press Operative for a Stevenage Printing company. This is an established company with strong growth and excellent prospects of progression. This role is a temporary to permanent position for the right person.
Pre-press is to aid production, increase output and maintain quality/efficiencies. Working to ensure orders are ready in line with the company schedule.
Essential competencies & behaviour:- Approachable and proactive when dealing with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Works well within a team and fosters collaboration.
- Professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all duties undertaken.
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
- Multi-skilled within pre-press, must have the ability to cover all 3 key areas: Plate ordering, Plate mounting, and ink mixing.
- Plate ordering/administration
- Plate mounting
- Ink mixing and colour matching
- Plate making
- Cleaning recycled printing plates
- Producing plate negs for in-house plates
- Carrying out pre-shift inspections for the pre-press room
- Keeping records of plate usage and reporting these back to the production manager
- Keeping records of ink usage and cost savings
- Ordering of ink
- Recycling of inks and safe disposal of old inks
- Stocktake of the ink store
£25k to £28k per annum depending on experience.
Hours: 7am till 4pm - 20 min tea break and 30 minutes for lunch.
