My client in the Hemsworth area of Wakefield are looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding various metal components with precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals, including sheet metal and fabricated components
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete fabrication tasks accurately
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise assembly
  • Assist in the fabrication of metal structures, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality requirements
  • Conduct inspections of welds for consistency, strength, and quality
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship

Requirements

  • Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety procedures
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and general fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical principles
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and perform basic measurements using standard tools
  • Experience working with sheet metal and assembly processes is desirable
  • Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with good problem-solving skills
