My client in the S9 area of Sheffield are looking for an experienced Welder.
The successful candidate will be experienced in MIG and TIG welding of mild steel and stainless steel, with the ability to weld aluminium considered an advantage.
You will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing and welding materials to specification, and ensuring high-quality workmanship throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel (aluminium experience beneficial).
- Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Measure, cut, and prepare materials to required dimensions.
- Clean and prepare workpieces to achieve strong, reliable weld joints.
- Inspect and test completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment, reporting any issues or faults.
- Follow all health, safety, and workshop protocols.
- Support general fabrication and assembly work as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding (weld test required).
- Proficiency in working with mild steel, stainless steel, and ideally aluminium.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of safe practices in a fabrication/welding environment.
- Basic proficiency in Maths and English.
