My client in the LS2 area are looking for a skilled Welder. The successful candidate will perform welding on materials including nickel base and exotic alloys in addition to carbon, stainless, duplex and super-austenitic materials according to customer requirements.
Duties of the Role:
- Proven and demonstrable welding experience in both Mild Steel and Stainless Steel (candidates will undertake a weld test).
- Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
- MMA (stick) welding to a high standard.
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (HF grinders, squares, callipers etc.).
- A hands-on and practical attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail – must be able to work carefully and accurately.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and good communication skills.
- Hard working, enthusiastic with good timekeeping.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.).
Experience Required:
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
Qualifications/Licence/Certification:
- Professional Welding Certification (e.g. ASME IX).
- FLT Licence (preferred but not essential).
