My client in the Dronfield area require an experienced Sales Estimator. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate quotations for laser cutting, folding, fabrication and welding across a wide range of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and manufacturing knowledge to contribute to a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
Duties of the Role
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical information to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations.
- Calculate material, labour, finishing, and subcontract costs for sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and outsourced processes.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.
- Prepare detailed quotations within customer deadlines while maintaining company margin targets.
- Update and revise quotations as project requirements change.
- Assist with job costing and continuous improvement of estimating processes.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, customer information, and estimating data.
- Support sales and customer service teams with technical and pricing queries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in estimating within sheet metal fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of fabrication processes including laser cutting, bending, and welding.
