Junior Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical Building Services Billericay, Essex Competitive, depending on experience + package The Opportunity Our client is a leading Mechanical Building Services contractor based in Billericay, with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical installations across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The business delivers mechanical services across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects, including healthcare and education, providing an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their Quantity Surveying career to gain valuable experience within a specialist contractor. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior QS looking to develop their commercial knowledge, work alongside an experienced team and progress their career within an established and growing business. Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyors and wider commercial team, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the commercial management of mechanical projects. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the commercial management of mechanical building services projects. • Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and variations. • Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts. • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management. • Reviewing project costs and monitoring budgets. • Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting. • Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation. • Supporting the commercial team with tender and pricing activities. • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and project teams. • Assisting with identifying commercial risks and opportunities. • Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation. • Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully. We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who is keen to develop their career within the mechanical building services sector. • A Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor already working within construction or building services. • A recent Quantity Surveying graduate looking for your first role within the industry. • Currently working in a commercial or estimating environment and looking to progress into Quantity Surveying. • Someone with previous mechanical/building services experience looking to develop their commercial career.
