We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to support our growing workload across both commercial and residential environments. Works will be across Southend and Canvey Island. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work independently while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine testing and inspection of fire alarm systems
- Test and verify all fire alarm components including: Call points, Smoke and heat detectors, Sounders and visual alarms, Interfaces and control equipment.
- Ensure systems are functioning correctly and compliant with relevant standards.
- Accurately record test results and report any faults or issues.
- Carry out minor fault finding where required.
- Liaise professionally with clients on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with fire alarm systems
- Strong knowledge of fire safety standards and testing procedures (e.g., BS 5839 preferred)
- Own tools and transport
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FIA units, ECS/CSCS card desirable)
