Jark Cambridge are representing a well-established and growing M&E services contractor based in Basildon, delivering high-quality commercial and industrial projects across the South East. With a strong pipeline of work and projects valued up to £5 million, they’re looking to expand their team with an experienced and motivated Mechanical Estimator.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a wide range of mechanical projects. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project bids and continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects up to £6 million.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Producing take-offs and bills of quantities.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and senior management.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Managing multiple tenders simultaneously within deadlines.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within commercial and/or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and building services.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach.
