We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder to join our fabrication workshop team. The role involves welding and assembling pipework to a high standard, ensuring all work meets relevant codes, specifications, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a workshop environment and be proficient in multiple welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pipe welding using processes such as TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Stick (SMAW)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric diagrams, and weld procedures
  • Prepare, align, and fit pipe sections prior to welding
  • Ensure all welds meet quality standards and pass visual and/or NDT inspection
  • Operate workshop tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Carry out repairs and rework where necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to meet production deadlines

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a pipe welder in a fabrication/workshop environment
  • Proficiency in TIG welding (essential); MIG and Stick welding advantageous
  • Ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys
  • Strong understanding of welding symbols and technical drawings
  • Experience working to industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, or equivalent)
  • Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid welding certifications (e.g., coded welder certification)
  • CSCS card (if applicable)
  • Additional qualifications in fabrication or engineering are advantageous
