My client in the Flanshaw area of Wakefield are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and precision in woodworking and related trades.
Duties
- Fabricate custom joinery and cabinetry according to technical drawings and specifications
- Assemble components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
- Measure, cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials to precise standards
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet client expectations
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
- Assist with other construction-related tasks such as roofing, plumbing, or masonry as required
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and screwdrivers
- Skilled in the use of power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and saws
- Strong knowledge of carpentry principles and construction practices
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling safely
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship and quality standards
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
