My client in the Flanshaw area of Wakefield are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and precision in woodworking and related trades.

Duties

  • Fabricate custom joinery and cabinetry according to technical drawings and specifications
  • Assemble components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
  • Operate a variety of woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
  • Measure, cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials to precise standards
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet client expectations
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
  • Assist with other construction-related tasks such as roofing, plumbing, or masonry as required

Skills

  • Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and screwdrivers
  • Skilled in the use of power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and saws
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry principles and construction practices
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
  • Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling safely
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship and quality standards
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
