Jaques Int Ltd is a family-run business based in Shobdon, Herefordshire. We design and construct poultry, agricultural and industrial buildings. We have site locations across Herefordshire, Shropshire, and the rest of the UK.
We are looking to recruit a Class C Driver / Yard individual with an immediate start date. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering to sites across the UK plus local internal runs within the business.
- Loading/unloading plant (tele-handlers & MEWPS), timber, steel, roofing sheets, pre-fab panels, doors etc.
- Operating forklift/plant including counterbalance, multi-directional forklift, side loader, tele-handler and MEWPS.
- Inspecting loads safely before leaving the yard or sites.
- Completing site clearances and returning materials back to the yard.
- Carrying out daily walkaround checks of the vehicle, and raising defects where appropriate.
- Driving the vehicle safely in accordance with the law and company policies at all times.
- Understanding tachographs and complying with drivers’ hours regulations.
- Assisting with Yard/Workshop or other ad hoc duties in line with the needs of the business.
- Manual handling required for most tasks.
Current vehicle is a 13.5t Isuzu beavertail lorry. A new Scania 26t P350 6-wheel beavertail is on order for delivery October/November.
