Kick-start your career in the automotive industry as an Autocare Technician Apprentice. You will gain hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles whilst working towards the Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
About the Employer
Expected Career Progression Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to progress into a permanent Autocare Technician role and continue developing within the motor vehicle industry. Future progression could include advancing to a Level 3 automotive qualification and specialising in vehicle diagnostics and repair.
What You'll Do
- As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and learn how to:
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Assist with inspections and health checks on customer vehicles
- Learn to identify and diagnose basic vehicle faults using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment
- Remove, repair and replace vehicle components
- Work on tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, batteries and exhaust systems
- Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer and industry standards
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
- Follow health, safety and environmental procedures
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Support stock control and workshop operations when required
The Level 2 Autocare Technician
The Level 2 Autocare Technician standard covers servicing and repair work on cars, light vans and other light vehicles, whilst developing technical, problem-solving and customer service skills.
