Japanese Place is a fast-moving Japanese hot food restaurant located in the heart of London's business district, just steps from the Gherkin. We serve affordable, freshly cooked lunch dishes - famous for our Chicken Katsu Curry, Teriyaki Specials and bowls of Ramen Noodle Soup. Unlike many grab-and-go spots, all our food is cooked to order. Our close-knit team takes pride in delivering premium quality at speed, keeping service efficient while never compromising on flavour.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Grill Chef to join our friendly Back of House team. You will support the smooth running of our kitchen during the busy lunchtime trade - preparing ingredients, working on the grill and frying section, assembling dishes, keeping everything clean and ensuring we deliver great food fast. This is a permanent, full-time role from 8am until 4pm with no evening or weekend shifts. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a small, supportive team and wants to grow with us.
What You'll Do:- Assist with food preparation and plating to company standards
- Be responsible for grilling and frying
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures
- Keep your workstation clean, organised and ready for service
- Support your teammates during peak service hours
- Monitor stock levels and report when supplies are low
- Help with cleaning routines and kitchen close-down
- Previous kitchen experience
- No formal qualifications required - training provided
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Reliable, quick and able to keep attention to detail under pressure
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Hourly Rate: £14 per hour during 3-month probation, with review after
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
