Responsibilities and Duties:
ProHort Ltd are looking for a graduate ecologist. ProHort is a growing commercial business, based in the arboriculture, ecological and landscape development industries and focused on providing a high-quality service to all our clients. We provide a wide range of services, including:
- Arboricultural surveys.
- Soil and leaf testing.
- LVIAs and landscape schemes.
- Protected species surveys, including bats.
- Phase 1 Extended Ecological surveys.
- UK Habitat Mapping and Classification.
- Biodiversity Net Gain matrix calculations.
The Ecologist would be trained to conduct a range of different surveys throughout the UK, originating from our base in Stone, Staffordshire. The ideal candidate would have a qualification within a relevant or similar topic and be interested in developing their career within ecology. The role is a commercial role, working predominantly with customers who are submitting planning applications and the ideal candidate would therefore be comfortable working to tight deadlines.
About you:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Ecology or related subject, or previous relevant experience.
- A basic knowledge of core ecological surveys.
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
- Happy to travel on a regular basis with a full, clean driver\'s license.
- Well presented, with a confident and friendly manner.
- Competent using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Intermediate computer literacy.
- A team player – happy to work with other members of the team to achieve goals.
- Work to a high standard, showing attention to detail, showing care and thought in all that you do.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
