Do you want to be at the cutting edge of zero carbon technology?
Net zero is fast approaching and reducing carbon emissions, leaving fossil fuels behind, and finding alternative solutions is now a top priority for the UK. Building on our award-winning heat network solutions, we are now also offering a solution that uses a shared ground loop with individual Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) in the home.
At Metropolitan, our vision is to make zero carbon heating straightforward for all, and we’re searching for a talented Senior Engineer to help us achieve that.
About you
We’re looking for an individual with the drive and passion to deliver the most efficient and sustainable shared ground loop solution for our customers. You’ll ideally have experience with shared ground loops and individual home GSHP and be working your way towards Chartered Engineer status with an appropriate professional institution. As a minimum, you will need to have had experience in an engineering role involving the use of individual heat pumps in homes or centralized GSHP.
You’ll be a creative problem solver with great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will have good commercial awareness and knowledge of project management and contract management procedures.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career, and you can look forward to:
- Delivery of engineering new shared ground loop heat solutions and decarbonizing existing systems.
- Designing and reviewing designs of shared ground loop systems at all stages across their lifecycle from inception through commercial operation.
- Undertaking modeling of the technical and commercial aspects of shared ground loop and individual GSHP plant operations.
- Advising on the incorporation of innovations and new products into new systems.
- Supporting collaborative client and contractor relationships.
- Undertaking site inspections, snagging, and witnessing commissioning for assets being built ahead of adoption or handover from our contractors.
- Assisting with the development of project budgets and estimates, ensuring designs meet requirements.
- Reviewing design software used in the development of heat network design and implementing Standards and Procedures.
- Supporting the development of others within the team and developing your management skills.
About our offer
As a recognized great place to work, it’s important to us that you achieve a great work-life balance; that’s why we offer hybrid working. You’ll need to be in the right place to do what you need to do each day. You could be at home, on site, or in our London office.
We know that all work and no play is dull, so we have regular team social events to get everyone together.
You’ll get:
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (and the opportunity to purchase more through our flexible benefits scheme).
- Corporate perks (reduced cinema tickets and discounts at high street shops).
- Access to our wellbeing assistance programme (24-hour helpline and counselling service).
And, of course, you’ll have a competitive starting salary, pension, and life assurance.
