Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

Join the Infrastructure Engineer team at Janus Henderson Investors. The role focuses on migrating on‑premises datacenters to Azure VMware Solution, managing file servers, and maintaining backup environments.

Responsibilities

• Migrate on‑premises datacenters to Azure AVS.
• Provide file server management during transition to a Cloud NAS file system.
• Perform VMware updates, patching, and manage VM Tools on guest OSes.
• Oversee BAU tickets and tasks, including monitoring automated server deployments.
• Administer backup environment, ensuring SLAs and improving quality of backup, server, storage, and virtualization systems.
• Assist with migration from on‑prem servers and storage to Azure VMware solution.
• Manage and maintain existing on‑prem Cisco UCS servers for the next two years.
• Close security findings identified by the IT security team.
• Perform disaster recovery testing and support backup technologies.
• Collaborate with teams based in Denver and London.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with VMware, including updates/patching and VM Tools management.
• Strong expertise in file server management (DFS, NTFS, shares, robocopy, etc.).
• Experience with server hardware and firmware.
• Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery tools.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to be on‑call every other week (daytime hours only).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Azure, especially Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
• Experience with MS Orchestrator.
• Familiarity with Cohesity’s backup solution.
• Familiarity with Zerto’s DR software.
• Skills in Windows/Active Directory.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, CCNA).
• Experience in storage management (SAN or VSAN).
