Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting expertise under IFRS and US GAAP, supporting accounting matters and financial reporting judgments.
- Assess the financial reporting and accounting implications of the recent take‑private transaction, including identifying and implementing accounting, reporting and process changes.
- Contribute to the delivery of the external audit process, including preparing supporting analysis.
- Support the Financial Reporting team through a period of change, contributing to monthly, quarterly and year‑end reporting deliverables as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Support the understanding of regulatory obligations and abide by regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable to the role.
Qualifications
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post‑qualification experience in financial reporting and financial control, either from an accountancy practice or in industry.
- Significant practical experience applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including the ability to prepare robust technical accounting analysis and exercise sound financial reporting judgment.
- Experience managing financial reporting and audit processes.
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work accurately and independently with excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation and delivery of workpapers.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly and to understand the area and its requirements.
- Results‑driven approach, including ability to make enhancements and improvements to processes and increase transparency of analysis.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with the team and others at Janus Henderson.
- Nice to Have
- Good working knowledge of U. S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Proficiency with SAP (S/4, ERP, BPC, GR and BAO).
- Exposure working for a global organization in a complex group structure and multi‑country and currency environment.
- Investment management experience preferred but not essential.
