The Project Manager is a UK-based member of Janison's Delivery Management practice, part of the shared Project Manager / Technical Account Manager resource pool supporting Janison's UK and EU delivery programmes. Working alongside client-side project managers under the Programme Director, the Project Manager plans, tracks and reports on workstream delivery, from mobilisation through acceptance testing, go-live and data/content migration, ensuring programmes are delivered to schedule, budget and the quality standards expected on high-stakes government and enterprise assessment contracts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Delivery
  • Lead planning and day-to-day delivery of assigned workstreams (e.g., platform configuration, identity & access, integrations, reporting, data and content migration) against the agreed delivery plan and milestones.
  • Create and maintain the project schedule, ensuring adequate staffing and coordinating UK, EU and AU/EMEA contributors.
  • Facilitate project workshops with client and delivery-partner stakeholders (e.g., data profiling, requirements mapping, reporting and UX requirements, migration kick-off).
  • Track and report effort and cost for assigned workstreams against approved budget, flagging variances or emerging cost/scope risk to the Programme Director promptly.
  • Governance, Reporting & Tools
  • Maintain the project schedule and RAID log, and the project backlog/tickets in the practice's standard project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira).
  • Contribute to monthly service and status reporting, supporting compliance with the agreed implementation-schedule KPIs.
  • Provide regular, accurate progress updates to the Programme Director and client/delivery-partner stakeholders.
  • Use AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve reporting quality, efficiency and turnaround, in line with Janison's AI adoption expectations.
  • Risk, Issue & Change Management
  • Own and maintain the risk and issue log for assigned workstreams, ensuring mitigations are implemented, reviewed and escalated where required.
  • Support the change control process: log, assess and track change requests and their schedule/budget impact.
  • Escalate KPI or schedule deterioration promptly, supporting rapid root-cause assessment and remedial action planning.
  • Stakeholder & Team Coordination
  • Agree project objectives and acceptance criteria with client and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, direct and support project staff and functional contributors (Technology Delivery, UK Enablement, TechOps) to deliver assigned workstreams.
  • Liaise with the client's service desk and training teams to ensure a smooth handover from build to live service.
  • Escalate risks, issues and capability gaps to the Programme Director, and engage constructively with structured mentoring and development support provided.

  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation v4 (minimum)
  • Certifications: PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent (e.g., Certified Scrum Master)
  • Experience: 4-6 years' project management experience, including software vendor, SaaS or client onboarding/implementation projects
  • Skills: Strong stakeholder, budget, and issue and risk management skills; able to facilitate workshops and work independently
  • Delivery environment: Experience working in a matrixed or multi-vendor/consortium delivery environment
  • Eligibility: Eligible to work in the UK and able to satisfy BPSS-aligned pre-employment screening (identity verification, right to work, references and a criminal record check appropriate to the role). Holds a current, valid passport enabling travel outside the UK as required for the role.
