Security Systems Engineer (Access Control) – Major Nuclear Programme
£525–£625 per day | Long-term contract | Hybrid (2–3 days on site)
I’m supporting a key hire on one of the UK’s most significant nuclear infrastructure programmes. This is not a standard engineering role. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of a critical security and access control package on a live, multi-billion-pound build.
You’ll be responsible for the definition, design and delivery of door locking, key control and integrated security systems, working across multiple stakeholders, managing suppliers, and ensuring full integration within a highly regulated environment.
What makes this stand out:
- £525–£625 per day
- Long-term contract on a multi-year programme (rare level of stability)
- Hybrid working – typically 2–3 days on site, remainder from home
- Nationally significant project aligned with Net Zero targets
- Full lifecycle exposure – from specification through to delivery and handover
- High level of technical ownership and visibility across the programme
What they’re looking for:
- Experience delivering access control / physical security systems
- Background within major infrastructure, nuclear, defence or regulated environments
- Ability to manage suppliers and stakeholders across complex projects
- Strong understanding of system integration and delivery within live environments
This role sits at the centre of a generational infrastructure project, offering experience that carries real weight across nuclear, defence and major projects moving forward.
