We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team in London. This position supports our payroll processing and compliance for the UK and the Netherlands, and involves working very closely with our global Payroll team.
You will be responsible for the timely review and accurate processing of the payrolls, the preparation of compliance-related items, coordination with vendors and providing friendly customer service to colleagues in response to their payroll questions.
You will also work closely with HR and other internal teams to ensure all tax reporting, benefits-records administration and payroll issues are handled accurately and responsibly. This will also include collaborating with our Workday team on system updates and enhancements.
Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
- Reviewing and supporting monthly, off-cycle and fortnightly payrolls, as well as acting as a backup resource to cover team absences
- Preparing deliverables for month-end, quarterly and annual reporting (e.g., PSA, STBV, R&D credit and Gender Pay Gap)
- Delivering excellent customer service to our employees which is aligned with our SLAs to enhance employee experience
- Contributing towards process enhancements and efficiencies, and suggesting ways to improve and automate payroll processes
- Supporting the administration of our company pension plan, including the accurate and timely submission of pension data changes to our provider
- Maintaining payroll and internal control procedures, and ensuring process notes are comprehensive and kept current
- Providing support to the larger global Payroll team during audits and other projects
- Overseeing internal communications and guidance to ensure they are shared accurately and in a timely manner
- Keeping up to date with best practices and current payroll legislation (e.g., family leave) and regulations
- Participating in UAT and regression testing of payroll changes and updates to the payroll system

About You
- 10+ years of UK and international payroll experience, preferably from a financial services background
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field
- Experienced with in-house payrolls with a technical understanding of an in-house configuration
- Experienced with external vendor management
- Excellent collaborative, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
- Intellectually curious and eager to learn
- Professional, trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information with excellent judgement and discretion
- Can work proactively and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable and demonstrate resilience under pressure
- Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- CIPP qualification is preferred
- Exposure to working with expat payroll or to Netherlands payroll is desirable
- Experience working with Workday HR/Payroll preferred
