We are looking for an HR Partner to support our team in London in a broad range of strategic and operational responsibilities. Your ability to pivot from strategic thinking to practical implementation and back will be critical. On a given day, you might serve as a resource for employees to resolve issues, hold long-term strategic discussions with senior leaders, coach new managers on employee relations issues, help design and improve our people processes (e.g., performance management) and dig into data.

As you work alongside other HR Partners to support colleagues, you will also be a key member of our global HR team. Our HR team is an extremely dedicated group of people across our New York, London and Hong Kong offices, who enjoy working collaboratively to keep Jane Street an excellent place to work. You will lend your expertise to inform strategy on issues related to firm growth, performance feedback, career and leadership development, and benefits and compensation planning. There will also be opportunities to collaborate on initiatives on a global scale and refine the role to meet the evolving needs of the firm over time. Jane Street is a challenging, dynamic place to work with smart and intellectually curious people. Our organisational structure is flat with few titles, and you will have the opportunity to adapt your deep experience in a broad array of human resources disciplines to our distinctive work culture.

About You

  • Have a bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in human resources; CIPD qualification preferred but not required
  • Mature and professional; you handle information with sensitivity and care
  • A flexible team player who is comfortable both managing and doing the work yourself
  • Positive and approachable; can stay composed, prepared and balanced in all interactions
  • Have a strong understanding of HR best practices; you may not have all the answers, but you know where to find them
  • Can develop and articulate your own point of view (using personal insight and data) while also remaining open to other perspectives
  • Excellent written and spoken communicator; you choose words thoughtfully
  • Fluent in English
