Are you a commercially minded finance leader who understands the pace, complexity and opportunity of the retail sector? I’m partnering with a successful retail business in Cheshire to recruit an experienced Head of Finance. This is a high-profile opportunity to join the senior leadership team, influence business performance and work closely with the Group CFO.
The role
- Leading monthly and annual financial reporting, including insightful commentary and board packs
- Ensuring statutory accounts, returns and filings comply with UK GAAP and relevant deadlines
- Managing relationships with auditors, HMRC, banking partners and investors
- Providing commercial and strategic support to the wider business and Group CFO
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team
- Driving finance improvement projects, strengthening controls and improving processes
- Delivering clear financial insight to support confident, informed decision-making
About you
- A fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- An established senior finance leader with significant post-qualified experience
- Currently operating at Head of Finance or Finance Director level
- Able to demonstrate a strong track record within the retail sector — this is essential
- Technically strong, commercially astute and confident influencing senior stakeholders
- An engaging leader who can develop a team while remaining hands-on when required
