About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Freight Operator to join a busy operations team in Oldham. This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with experience across road, sea and air freight who enjoys managing shipments from booking through to final delivery while delivering exceptional customer service. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will liaise with customers, carriers, overseas agents and suppliers to ensure shipments are moved efficiently, compliantly and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage UK and international freight movements via road, sea and air.
  • Arrange bookings with hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and courier partners.
  • Monitor shipments from collection through to final delivery.
  • Prepare and process import and export documentation.
  • Liaise with customers regarding shipment updates, delays and queries.
  • Obtain and negotiate freight rates with carriers and suppliers.
  • Work closely with overseas agents and customs partners.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international shipping requirements.
  • Handle shipment tracking, problem-solving and issue resolution.
