🚨 Ambitious, high-energy candidates only 🚨
Location: UK-based, ideally near Exeter (Hybrid/Remote with occasional on-site collaboration)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 p.a. (with increases as revenue grows) + generous share options
Type: Full-time
Who We’re Looking For
We don’t want 9–5ers. We want builders. People who code because they can’t not code. People who get a kick out of taking an idea from scratch to something real and used. People who’ve pulled all-nighters because they were too deep into solving a problem to stop.
You’ll thrive here if you’re:
- Curious. You go down rabbit holes. You can’t leave a problem unsolved.
- Ambitious. You want to build something that matters — and get rewarded big when it works.
- Hard-working. You know success doesn’t come without putting in the hours and the grit.
- Ownership-driven. You see problems and fix them. You don’t wait for permission.
If you’re just looking for a comfy salary, this isn’t for you. We’re looking for missionaries, not mercenaries.
About JammJar
JammJar is an AI-powered B2B SaaS platform transforming the UK mortgage advisory market. Brokers waste 15–20 hours a week on admin — we’re killing that dead with automation. That means brokers can close more deals, serve more clients, and grow faster.
We’ve got early traction (~£100k ARR → £1m+ ARR in sight), strong backing from Haatch and The FSE Group, and a small, senior team who’ve been around the block.
Stack: Laravel, AWS, Next.js, OpenAI, Claude.
The Roles
We’re hiring two engineers to join us:
- Backend Engineer – PHP/Laravel, REST APIs, AWS.
- Full-Stack Engineer – Laravel + Next.js, end-to-end feature building.
Both roles will be hands-on, fast-moving, and critical to how we scale.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building secure, scalable services in Laravel.
- Developing REST APIs for internal + third-party integrations.
- (Full-Stack) Shipping front-end features in Next.js/TypeScript.
- Working with AI integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic etc...).
- Making architecture decisions that shape the future of the product.
- Jumping on AWS infra tasks (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CI/CD).
- Shipping fast. Shipping well. Shipping often.
Why Join Us
- Ownership from day one. Your code, your impact, your wins.
- £60–70k salary with rises as we scale.
- Generous share options. If we win, you win. Big.
- A team that values curiosity x ambition x ownership above all else.
- Be part of the core team that takes us from scrappy startup to market leader.
👉 If you’re the kind of engineer who codes at 3am because you can’t sleep until you’ve cracked it — we want you.
