- Help ambitious businesses make big decisions
Not every corporate solicitor wants to spend their career hidden behind layers of hierarchy, producing lengthy advice that never sees the light of day.
Some want to work directly with business owners.
They want to lead transactions, build trusted relationships with clients and become the lawyer that founders pick up the phone to before making their biggest decisions.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
At Jamieson Law, we advise ambitious businesses through every stage of their journey.
Whether they're buying or selling a business, bringing in investors, restructuring their group, negotiating key commercial contracts or preparing for growth, we're the legal team they trust to help them move forward with confidence.
We're a modern, entrepreneurial law firm that combines high-quality legal advice with commercial thinking, responsiveness and genuinely great client relationships.
We don't believe in unnecessary complexity or traditional law firm bureaucracy.
We believe in giving practical advice, building long-term partnerships and helping businesses achieve their goals.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Corporate Solicitor to join our team.
Why Jamieson Law?
We're building something different.
Our lawyers aren't simply fee earners. They're trusted advisers who become an extension of our clients' businesses.
That means you'll
- Work directly with founders, directors and management teams from day one
- Lead your own transactions with support from experienced Legal Directors
- Advise ambitious SMEs and growing businesses across a wide variety of sectors
- Be encouraged to think commercially, not just legally
- Enjoy real autonomy without unnecessary layers of management
- Be part of a collaborative, supportive team where everyone wants each other to succeed
- Have genuine opportunities to develop your career as the firm continues to grow
We're fully remote, highly collaborative and embrace technology to help us deliver an exceptional experience for both our clients and our team.
The Role
- This is primarily a corporate role, advising businesses on matters including:
- Buying and selling companies
- Business acquisitions and disposals
- Shareholders' agreements
- Articles of association
- Company restructures and reorganisations
- Investment transactions
- Corporate governance
- General company law advice
Many of our clients also rely on us for day-to-day commercial support, as well as corporate work.
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts would therefore be advantageous, but it isn't essential.
More important is your willingness to understand our clients' businesses and become a trusted adviser they can rely on.
About You
We're looking for someone who
- Is qualified in Scotland or England & Wales
- Has around 3–5 years' PQE with strong corporate experience
- Can confidently manage corporate transactions from instruction through to completion
- Enjoys building relationships with clients and becoming their trusted adviser
- Communicates clearly and confidently in plain English
- Thinks commercially and enjoys solving problems
- Takes ownership of their work while working collaboratively with colleagues
- Is organised, proactive and enjoys working in a fast-moving environment
- Wants to be part of an ambitious, growing business rather than simply another law firm
If you also have experience advising on commercial contracts, that's a bonus.
The Kind of Lawyer You'll Become Here
Success at Jamieson Law isn't measured by how many hours you record or how many pages your advice note contains.
It's measured by the relationships you build, the confidence clients have in your advice and the impact you have on their businesses.
We're looking for lawyers who enjoy understanding how businesses work, who genuinely care about helping clients succeed and who want to build long-term relationships rather than simply complete transactions.
If that sounds like the kind of career you're looking for, we'd love to meet you.
What We Offer
- Fully remote working
- High-quality corporate work with ambitious businesses
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Pension
- Ongoing training and professional development
- A genuinely supportive, collaborative team
- The opportunity to help shape the future of a fast-growing law firm
- We’re more than just a remote team.
Although we work remotely, we make a real effort to stay connected.
We regularly get together for team days, meals and UK and overseas trips, because building great relationships with each other is just as important as building them with our clients
