The Jamie Oliver Cafe is growing! We're a wonderful cafe sitting right at the heart of Oxford Street - sharing a beautiful site with the Jamie Oliver Cookery School team. We have a lovely menu that we make in-house every single day; freshly made food - properly tasty!

We’re looking for a kitchen assistant who loves working in a great team, and has determination to work hard and achieve lots alongside us! Whether you already have some experience under your belt, or you're at the very start of your culinary career and looking for the perfect place to learn and grow, we want to hear from you.

WHY WE NEED YOU

A successful Kitchen Assistant will help ease the pressure during busy shifts and ensure the smooth running of our operations. You’ll assist with the preparation of beautiful salads and sandwiches, whilst keeping on top of cleaning and kitchen management.

WHAT YOU’RE HERE TO DO

  • Excellent Food Preparation
    • Assist the kitchen team with the preparation and build of savoury and fresh food cafe items. Following relevant recipes and company specs, maintaining precision and consistency at all times.
    • Use safe knife skills to prepare a variety of ingredients in a timely manner.
    • Confidently and safely operate food processors, as well as cook and cool required ingredients.
  • Excellent Kitchen Management
    • Support the team in keeping the kitchen in optimal working order.
    • Ensure delivered products are checked against invoices, and are in keeping with our quality standards.
    • Store prepared food in an organised, hygienic manner.
    • Maintain general order and cleanliness of back-of-house areas.
    • Proactively assist with other operational aspects of the kitchen.
  • Staying Safe
    • Adhere to your Level 2 Food Hygiene Training at all times.
    • Follow all HACCP guidelines and business health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Maintain a high level of respect and care for the business, as well as your own personal hygiene and presentation.
