A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Energy Lawyer to join its well-established and growing energy and infrastructure practice in the South of England. This is a standout opportunity for a senior corporate lawyer with a strong focus on the clean energy and renewables sector to work on high-value, complex transactions at the forefront of the UK’s energy transition.
The successful candidate will advise on a wide range of corporate and investment matters across the energy sector, working closely with colleagues in projects, infrastructure, construction and ESG to deliver joined-up advice to a sophisticated client base. The practice acts for developers, investors, asset managers, funds, energy suppliers and community-led organisations, including overseas investors entering the UK market.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading and advising on M&A, acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures within the energy and infrastructure space
- Advising on investments in renewable and clean energy projects, including solar, battery storage, co-located assets, wind and other emerging technologies
- Supporting clients on corporate governance, ESG and ethical investment matters
- Advising on development finance and project-related corporate structuring
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on complex transactions
- Playing an active role in client development, profile-raising and team leadership
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in corporate transactions within the energy or infrastructure sector
- Demonstrable exposure to renewables, clean energy or energy storage projects
- Commercial, solutions-focused and confident managing complex stakeholder environments
- Interest in sustainability, net zero and the evolving energy landscape
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers is advantageous
- High-quality, varied work within a market-leading energy practice
