Jameson Legal is working exclusively with an ambitious and well-backed legal business seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to join its growing London practice. The organisation is developing a modern approach to residential property law, combining senior legal expertise with intelligent technology designed to improve efficiency, communication and the overall client experience. This is not a conventional volume conveyancing environment. Lawyers remain responsible for their matters and client relationships, while technology provides greater support across the administrative and procedural elements of each transaction.
Applications are welcomed from Residential Property Solicitors, Conveyancing Solicitors, Licensed Conveyancers and Chartered Legal Executives who are interested in joining a progressive practice at an important stage of its development.
The role
You will manage a varied residential property caseload while contributing to the continued development of the team and its working practices. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing residential sales, purchases and related conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
- Handling freehold and leasehold matters, including complex and higher-value transactions
- Reviewing contracts, title documentation, searches, enquiries and lender requirements
- Identifying and managing legal, regulatory and transactional risk
- Providing clear and commercially sensible advice to clients
- Taking ownership of matters requiring experienced legal judgement
- Building strong relationships with clients, introducers and other professional contacts
- Contributing to business development and the growth of the residential property practice
- Providing practical input into the technology and processes supporting the team
The candidate
The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or chartered legal executive with substantial experience in residential property and conveyancing. You should have:
- At least five years’ experience handling residential property matters
- Strong technical knowledge of freehold, leasehold, mortgage and title-related issues
- Experience managing transactions independently from instruction through to completion
- The confidence to take responsibility for complex residential property work
- Excellent client-care, communication and relationship-building skills
- A commercial approach and an interest in developing professional relationships
- An open and practical attitude towards legal technology and more efficient ways of working
- The adaptability required to succeed within an entrepreneurial and evolving environment
The opportunity
This is a distinctive opportunity for an experienced residential property lawyer who enjoys technical work, client relationships and personal responsibility but would welcome a more progressive environment than that offered by many traditional conveyancing practices. The successful candidate will join a business with significant ambitions for its residential property offering and will have genuine scope to influence how the team, its technology and its client service develop. The package includes a strong London salary, bonus potential and additional long-term incentives.
For a Residential Property Solicitor, Conveyancing Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive looking for an upmarket, technology-enabled practice and the opportunity to contribute beyond an individual caseload, this role merits serious consideration.
