A leading international law firm is seeking experienced AML/KYB Analysts to support a large-scale client remediation programme. This six-month project will focus on the review, remediation, and enhancement of existing client records to ensure compliance with UK AML regulations, internal policies, and global financial crime requirements.
The successful candidate will have proven experience onboarding corporate clients within a law firm or professional services environment and be confident conducting complex Client Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Know Your Business (KYB) reviews. Candidates must demonstrate strong risk assessment and decision-making capabilities, applying a risk-based approach to client onboarding and ongoing monitoring activities.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct end-to-end Client Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and periodic client reviews across a range of legal entity types and jurisdictions.
- Review existing client records and remediate incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated AML documentation.
- Ensure all client files meet regulatory requirements and internal risk management standards.
- Analyse complex corporate ownership structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).
- Apply a risk-based approach when assessing client relationships, ownership structures, and source of wealth considerations.
- Perform Know Your Business (KYB) checks for corporate clients, partnerships, trusts, funds, and other legal entities.
- Verify client identities and corporate information using approved electronic and documentary verification methods.
- Conduct ownership and control assessments to identify beneficial ownership and control structures.
- Complete Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW) reviews where required.
- Carry out Politically Exposed Person (PEP), sanctions, adverse media, and other financial crime screening checks.
- Complete and document AML risk assessments in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
- Escalate high-risk clients, sanctions concerns, adverse media findings, or unusual structures to Compliance management where appropriate.
- Conduct event-driven CDD reviews arising from new matters, changes in ownership structures, regulatory triggers, or risk events.
- Support ongoing monitoring programmes and periodic review processes.
- Review sanctions and adverse media alerts and determine appropriate actions.
- Assist with Enhanced Due Diligence investigations on higher-risk clients and jurisdictions.
- Participate in monitoring meetings and provide updates on remediation progress, risks, and outstanding actions.
- Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation supporting all compliance decisions.
- Proven AML/KYB experience within a law firm, accounting firm, consultancy, or professional services organisation.
- Strong experience onboarding and reviewing corporate and institutional clients.
- Experience conducting client remediation projects, client onboarding, or periodic review programmes.
- Demonstrable experience performing: CDD, EDD, Source of Wealth (SOW) reviews, Source of Funds (SOF) assessments, Beneficial Ownership analysis, PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening.
- Experience assessing complex corporate structures and identifying Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).
- Strong understanding of AML regulations and financial crime risks.
- Ability to apply a risk-based approach to decision-making and risk assessment.
