Job Description

Please ensure you read the below overview and requirements for this employment opportunity completely.

We are currently working with a leading global professional services organisation that is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Employment Counsel on a contract of 9-12 months in duration. The assignment is due to start in August/September 2026 and will operate on a hybrid basis, with 1-2 days per week required in the London office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior employment lawyer to join a highly regarded in-house legal team, providing commercially focused employment law support across a large and complex business. The successful individual will advise on a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, whilst managing their own caseload and partnering with senior stakeholders across HR, Risk and the wider business.

The role will involve providing day-to-day advice on a wide range of employment law issues, supporting key strategic projects and initiatives, managing employment-related risk, and advising on both internal HR matters and external claims. Matters are likely to include restructures, business change projects, TUPE, employee relations issues, disciplinary and grievance matters, whistleblowing, restrictive covenants, compensation and benefits, equality and diversity initiatives, terminations, Employment Tribunal claims and ACAS matters.

The successful lawyer will be joining a collaborative and experienced team and will be expected to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice in a fast-paced environment.

Suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction
  • Ideally 8+ years' PQE specialising in employment law
  • Significant in-house employment law experience gained within a large, complex organisation
  • Strong experience across both advisory and contentious employment matters
  • Exposure to restructures, business change programmes, workforce-related projects and employment litigation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong drafting and communication abilities
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
  • Capacity to start a new assignment immediately or at short notice

This represents a fantastic opportunity for a senior employment lawyer seeking a high-profile in-house role within a market-leading professional services environment.

A competitive daily rate, inside IR35, is on offer.
