Job Description

An established and well-respected law firm with offices across the Midlands is seeking a dedicated, full-time Residential Property Solicitor or Conveyancer to join its growing team in Banbury.

The firm works exclusively with private individuals, offering expert legal advice across residential property, private client, and family law matters. The Role

This is an office-based, full-time role in Banbury, ideal for a conveyancer who enjoys autonomy but also values being part of a team. You'll manage your own caseload of residential property matters and play an active role in the development of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling your own caseload of residential conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion
  • Providing clear, practical legal advice to clients throughout the transaction process
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, transfers, and related property documents
  • Reviewing search results, title documentation, and Land Registry requirements
  • Liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, clients, and solicitors to ensure smooth progress of matters
  • Supporting the Head of Unit and act independently as needed
  • Contributing to business development by building new professional relationships and marketing the conveyancing service
  • Supervising and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
  • A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing
  • Solid understanding of property law and conveyancing procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach
  • Proven ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and independently
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • A full UK driving licence
