A well-established and reputable law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its growing team in Coventry.
With nearly a century of service to individuals and businesses across the West Midlands and Warwickshire, the firm operates from offices in Coventry, Kenilworth, and Wellesbourne. It provides tailored legal support across a wide range of practice areas, including:
- Family and matrimonial law
- Child law and safeguarding matters
- Criminal defence
- Residential and commercial property transactions
- Wills, probate, and powers of attorney
- Civil disputes
- Personal injury and clinical negligence claims
The firm's legal professionals are experts in their fields, committed to delivering clear, effective legal advice and practical solutions. The firm holds the Law Society's Lexcel accreditation, recognising excellence in legal practice management and client care.
This is a full-time position based at the Coventry office, with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week following the completion of a probationary period. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in private client law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting Wills, including trust-based Wills
- Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Advising on estate planning and Inheritance Tax (IHT)
- Drafting and advising on Deeds of Variation
- Handling probate and estate administration, including IHT400 submissions and complex estates
- Managing financial affairs for clients where the firm is appointed as Attorney or Deputy
- Preparing Court of Protection applications
Key Skills and Experience:
- 3 PQE in Private Client work - you can be either a qualified solicitor or a legal executive.
- Excellent interpersonal and client-handling skills
- Strong team-working abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work under pressure and manage a busy caseload
- Well-organised and self-motivated
- Track record of meeting billing targets
- Willingness to continue developing professionally
