We have been instructed to identify a Counsel for the private client team of a leading offshore law firm in the Channel Islands. This is an established offshore law firm with a leading private client group, acting for HNW/UHNW individuals and families, family offices and the trust companies that act for them. The work centres on offshore trusts structures, alongside wider estate and succession planning. You will advise on trusts, foundations, and on how families and their trustees keep those arrangements properly governed as they pass from one generation to the next. A good deal of the work runs across several jurisdictions at once. The appointment is at Counsel level, which makes it a senior role for a Lawyer who wants the standing and the complexity that come with it. You will run your own matters, hold direct client relationships, and have a hand in supervising and developing the Lawyers coming through behind you. You will be qualified in England and Wales, or in another Commonwealth jurisdiction, with at least eight years' PQE (to senior) and a strong track record in private client and trusts work gained at a well-regarded firm. Current or previous offshore experience is an advantage rather than a requirement. Remuneration is competitive for a Counsel appointment and has the benefit of a 20% income tax rate. A full benefits package and relocation assistance are included. To discuss this role, or the offshore private client market more generally, in confidence, please contact Philip Jennings. Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience. Our consultants will review your application and assess your suitability. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, however due to the volume of applications we receive we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually and would advise that if you do not hear from us you should assume you are not successful in your application. Jameson Legal acts as an employment business for temporary recruitment and as an employment agency for fixed term contract and permanent recruitment.41bf1e1f-b16b-4260-a40a-17c77a06fd15
