Residential Property Solicitor. 4-6 month assignment. Remote. 4+ PQE.

We have been instructed on an urgent requirement by a modern, technology-led SRA regulated law firm seeking to appoint two experienced Residential Property Solicitors on an interim basis. These assignments are expected to commence ASAP (ideally next week) and are likely to run for an initial period of 4–6 months, with the potential to become permanent for the right individuals.

The firm has embraced a fully digital way of working, enabling lawyers to operate remotely (throughout the UK) whilst benefiting from dedicated operational and administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced residential property lawyers looking to undertake high-quality fee earning work without the burden of managing the wider transaction process.

Successful candidates will inherit an established caseload of residential property matters, comprising a mixture of freehold and leasehold transactions. The role will primarily involve handling legal enquiries, reviewing contract documentation, advising clients and signing off files prior to exchange. Dedicated paralegals will manage exchanges, completions and post-completion formalities, while specialist onboarding teams deal with client onboarding, source of funds checks and file opening.

The firm operates using cloud-based technology, offering a highly efficient and paperless working environment.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Significant experience handling a broad range of residential property transactions, including both freehold and leasehold matters.
  • Upwards of 4 years’ PQE.
  • The ability to manage matters independently with minimal to no supervision and hit the ground running.
  • Strong technical ability and sound judgement when reviewing and signing off files prior to exchange.
  • Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic, commercial approach to client service.
  • Availability to commence at short notice.

The firm is flexible on working patterns and would welcome applications from lawyers seeking full-time or part-time arrangements (3–4 days per week). Candidates can be based anywhere within the UK, with the opportunity to work entirely remotely.

A competitive daily rate is available (inside IR35), with flexibility depending on experience.
